Anchor Charts that are ACTIVE
Taking Anchor Charts from “Read Me” to “Try Me!”
Anchor Charts that are Active… what?
Typically, your anchor charts are created and filed away. If you have the time, then you’ll create anchor charts with the help of your students. You probably don’t, but if you have a little wall space then you might find a place to post them up. If you or your kiddos remember, then you’ll use them as a reference now and again.
That’s one too many If and Thens, don’t you think?
The point is… those you didn’t get near enough use out of those anchor charts. They weren’t very active or “activity filled.”
Drum Roll pllllllease….
Enter Active Anchor Charts!
They are total game-changers.
Let’s call them AACs, because time is short. Your AACs (Active Anchor Charts) have text and visuals that you and your students can move & change.

It’s time to elevate your anchor charts and get them to start working for you. Once you’ve created a set of Active Anchors you can hang them up on double-stick hooks. Have your students pull them off the wall and work through the activities – learning and higher order thinking awaits.
Get a jump-start on creating your Active Anchors and use our Active Anchor Chart Kits.
Start with the kit your kids need the most practice with and build from there.
Here’s a full look at how we used our Active Anchor Chart Kits on foam boards. Use these as your inspiration. You can limit what you display on your boards. You can also change the location of the terms and visuals. You’ll want to prepare the Active Anchor Charts that will work for YOUR students and YOUR teaching style.
